What To Expect

Christ's Doctrine, Our Foundation

At the Collierville church of Christ, we teach the doctrine of Jesus Christ, not some mere man. We believe every Christian today owes their allegiance, their confession, to Christ, and not to any teacher of man's doctrines. We have made a commitment to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. To call Bible things by Bible names and do Bible things in Bible ways. We are not a denomination, but an assembly of Christians practicing New Testament Christianity without deviation, creed, or allegiance to modern theology.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a result of the distinctive pleas of the church – a return to New Testament faith and practice – a cappella singing is the only music used in the worship. This singing, unaccompanied by mechanical instruments of music, conforms to the music in the apostolic church and for several centuries thereafter (Ephesians 5:19). It is felt that there is no authority for engaging in acts of worship not found in the New Testament. This principle eliminates the use of instrumental music, along with the use of candles, incense, and other similar elements.
