We Believe In The Gospel

This is not a tru-ism.  We really do believe in the Gospel.   We believe that it is the power of God to save every human being who will obey it.   If you wonder why we believe the Gospel is that important, we encourage you to read what the Apostle Paul wrote to roman Christians in the first century A.D.:

Romans 1:5 – Obedience to the Faith

Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name

Romans 1:16-17 – The Power of the Gospel to Save Souls

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

When you visit the Collierville Church of Christ, you should expect to find:

  • A warm welcome — we love having visitors.
  • A family atmosphere, welcoming to every age
  • Bible filled teaching — if the Gospel saves, then the Gospel is what every Church should be teaching.
  • A focus on God and every person’s relationship with Him.
  • Truth above all else.
  • Joyful worship to God
    • by congregational singing — everyone is welcome to join in, no matter their skill at singing.
    • by prayer — giving thanks to God and asking for what our families need is a distinct joy in Christianity (Hebrews 4:14-16).
    • by teaching — learning what God has actually said is more important to us than “current events” and “politics”
    • by giving — members of our congregation give a portion of our income each week to support the work of the Church in Collierville
    • by partaking of the Lord’s Supper — this memorial of Jesus’ death has been observed on a weekly basis by Christians everywhere since He died in the first century A.D.
