And now, Admonition, brought to you by the Collierville Church of Christ.

When a third party interacts with those who mistreat us, how should we treat them?

An example of that is in second Samuel Chapter two, Soul has sought David’s life, has attempted to kill him, has run him from his home, and now Saul has died. But the men of Jabesh Gilead go up and they retrieve Saul’s body that had been taken by the Philistines, and they bury him properly.

And David says this about these men, You are blessed of the Lord, for you have shown this kindness to your Lord to Saul and have buried him. And now may the Lord show kindness and truth to you. I also will repay you this kindness because you have done this thing. Even though Saul hated him and the men of Jabesh did good to Saul, David showed kindness to them.

We need to learn this kind of complex good behavior in our own lives and implement it today.
