Mark 6:17, we read this, For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Phillip’s wife: for he had married her.
Have you ever done something wrong because someone else wanted you to do it? Have you ever done something wrong purely because someone else was insistent that you do that thing that was wrong? Herod gave into the influence of Herodias his wife. It’s so important that we be careful who we surround ourselves with. It is so important that we be careful about who we allow to influence us and become close to us. We need to be careful to choose our friends and especially our spouse wisely.
