In Admonition by Aaron Cozort

Scripture:

Ephesians 4:32

Description:

The Verse My Mother Made Us Quote
Ephesians 4:32 says, And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Be kind to those in the world around you, and especially to those closest to you. Be kind to your brothers and sisters in Christ. But most especially, forgive one another as God has forgiven you.

What Is Jesus’ Law?

In Articles by Web Administrator

What Is Jesus’ Law?

“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.

He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.

A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.

He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law” (Isaiah 42:1-4).

Isaiah prophesies concerning the Messiah and states emphatically that the Messiah will deliver a law.   The law is the foundation for the justice that He brings.  The law is the foundation of the hope of the “coastlands” that are waiting for his arrival.

The law would be the truth that He delivers when He comes.  John wrote, “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).   Jesus said we would be judged by His words (John 12:48).  We need to understand that Jesus came to deliver a law, not a law like Moses’ law, but a perfect law (James 1:25).  A better law (cf. Hebrews) and a better covenant.

Jesus law, His covenant, is the New Testament and we are responsible for obeying that law. If we do not, we will be judged by the One who gave the law.  Are you obedient to the law of God today? If so, it delivers you hope.  If not, it promises your judgment.

What does the law tell require from you?  Have you thought to ask?

Be Renewed In The Spirit of Your Mind

In Admonition by Aaron Cozort

Scripture:

Ephesians 4:23

Description:

Be Renewed In The Spirit of Your Mind! You can renew that book.
The concept of renewing a book at a library is a very common practice for many people. You’ve borrowed a book, its time to return it, but you’re not done reading it, so you choose to renew the loan. Similarly, God calls upon us to renew our minds daily.
Ephesians 4:20-24 “But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

You have not so learned Christ

In Admonition by Aaron Cozort

Scripture:

Ephesians 4:20

Description:

You have not so learned Christ.
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
But you have not so learned Christ,

Blessings and Cursings (Part 1 – Leviticus 26:1-8)

In Articles by Web Administrator

God Alone.

God speaks to Israel and encourages them to worship Him exclusively and prioritize Him alone in their lives. Dedication to God involves worshipping as He has commands and reverence for what is holy and sanctified for His purposes.

Service Active.

When God calls you to His service – which He does all people – and you respond by making a covenant with Him, and you agree to serve Him, you should understand that service is active.  God promises blessings to those who serve Him faithfully. There is a critical term in the previous statement, “serve.”  No servant serves by idleness.  No servant serves his master by not obeying his instructions.  God says, “…walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them.”  Three words, all active, all demanding action.  Examine your life – is there action on behalf of God?  Are you actively working as a servant, or have you become idle?

Blessings Abound.

The active servant of God in Israel had a promise to Him.  It was a definite promise, but it demanded faith and obedience.  If they would obey God, if they would walk in His statutes, then…

“…I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.” – You will have blessings of the land.

“Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing” – You will have sufficiency – not a claim for riches, but needs supplied.

“you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.” – There are provisions and security and an opportunity for contentment.

“I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.” – There is a picture here of an animal, perhaps a lamb, lying in the grass content and safe, with no reason to be afraid of attack forces around you.

“You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you.  Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.” – The strength of God to fight on your side.  When five men can chase away a hundred enemies, and a hundred men can defeat ten thousand, the skill is not in the men, but in the Lord who fights for them.

Grow Up Christians

In Admonition by Aaron Cozort

Scripture:

Ephesians 4:15

Description:

Grow up Christians!
grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ

that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.
